Values

What guides our work

01

Deep local knowledge

We have worked in Calgary's heritage churches, its downtown office towers, and its community banquet halls. That familiarity means faster site reads and recommendations that fit the character of local buildings.

02

Independent, unbiased advice

We sell consulting, not furniture or acoustic panels. Every recommendation is based solely on what will work best for your space and your people.

03

Community-centred approach

We understand that offices, churches, and event halls are places where community happens. Our work respects the culture and identity of each organization, not just the square footage.

04

Evidence-based process

We measure before we recommend. Acoustic readings, occupancy observations, and ergonomic assessments give our reports a factual foundation that stands up to scrutiny.

Our story

How we got here

Pastor Chairs Consulting was founded in Calgary by a team that grew up in this city and knows its neighbourhoods, its community halls, and its growing business districts. We help organizations of every size — from downtown corporate suites to neighbourhood churches and banquet halls — make the most of the space they already have. Our work combines evidence-based ergonomics, acoustic analysis, and practical seating layout to create environments where people can focus, gather, and thrive. Because we live and work here, we understand the character of Calgary's buildings and the needs of the people who fill them.

How we work

How a project unfolds

  1. 1

    Discovery call

We start with a conversation about your space, your goals, and the challenges you are experiencing. This call is free and helps us scope the right engagement for you.

  2. 2

    Proposal and agreement

We send a clear written proposal outlining scope, deliverables, timeline, and fees. Once agreed, we schedule the site visit.

  3. 3

    On-site assessment

Our consultant visits your facility to measure, observe, and gather the data needed for your report. We work around your schedule to minimize disruption.

  4. 4

    Analysis and report preparation

We analyse the data, model layout scenarios or acoustic predictions, and write a clear, prioritized report with practical recommendations.

  5. 5

    Presentation and follow-up

We present findings to your team, answer questions, and confirm next steps. A follow-up check-in is included to support implementation.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you work outside Calgary?

Yes. We regularly serve clients in LaSalle, Tecumseh, Amherstburg, Lakeshore, and throughout Calgary Region. For larger projects we can travel further — contact us to discuss.

How long does a typical engagement take from first call to final report?

Most single-service engagements are completed within 2 to 3 weeks from the initial discovery call. Bundled or multi-service projects typically take 3 to 6 weeks.

Are your fees fixed or do they change after the proposal?

Our proposals include a fixed fee for the agreed scope. If the scope changes — for example, if additional rooms are added — we discuss any fee adjustment before proceeding.

Do you work with organizations that have a limited budget?

Yes. We can structure a phased engagement so that the most impactful improvements are addressed first. We also include low-cost quick-win recommendations in every report.

Can you work around our operating hours to minimize disruption?

We schedule site visits to suit your organization. For offices, we often conduct observations during normal business hours to capture real work patterns. For churches and event halls, we can visit during quiet periods.

Do you provide drawings we can give to a contractor?

We provide scaled PDF drawings and, where relevant, editable files. These are suitable for sharing with contractors and architects. For construction-grade drawings, you would engage a licensed architect.

Is your acoustic measurement equipment calibrated?

Yes. Our measurement instruments are calibrated and maintained to industry standards. Calibration records are available on request.

What types of organizations do you work with most often?

Our three main client groups are corporate offices, houses of worship, and event venues such as banquet halls and community centres. We also work with schools and non-profit organizations.

Can you help us write a brief for an architect or interior designer?

Yes. A functional brief that specifies ergonomic, acoustic, and layout requirements is one of the most useful documents you can give a design professional. We can prepare this as a standalone service or as part of a larger engagement.

Do you offer any ongoing advisory services after the project is complete?

Our Full-Facility Transformation package includes 12 months of advisory access. For other engagements, ongoing advisory support can be arranged on a retainer basis — ask us for details.
